Can't connect, been punished, or just not sure how a scripted SMP works? Start with the
common questions below — most things are answered there in under a minute.
💬
Discord ticket
The fastest route. Open a ticket in #support and a staff member picks it up, usually within a few hours.
Java Edition 1.21.11. Older versions get rejected at the login screen with a version message, so update your launcher profile before joining.
I get "Connection refused" or the server shows offline
Check the IP for typos first, then restart your launcher. If it's still failing, the
network may be restarting after a patch — check the Discord announcements channel
before opening a ticket.
Can I play on Bedrock or console?
No — Rift Events is Java Edition only. The scripted events rely on custom plugins
that have no Bedrock equivalent, so there is no cross-play proxy.
The SMP
Are the events actually scripted?
The events are. The reactions aren't. Every beat of a season is written and coded in
advance, but nobody on the cast is told what is coming or when — so what you see them
do when a rift opens is genuinely the first time they're dealing with it.
Can I join the SMP?
The cast is fixed for the duration of a season, so mid-season joins only happen when
the script calls for one. New spots are announced in Discord between seasons.
Do I need to know the lore to follow along?
It helps. Nothing resets between episodes, so consequences stack up — start at
episode one if you can. If you'd rather jump in now, the lore posts on the home page
cover what's happened so far without spoiling what's scheduled.
What happens when a cast member dies?
That depends on what the script says that week, and we don't announce the rules in
advance. Some deaths cost an inventory. Some cost considerably more.
Ban appeals
How to appeal: open a ticket in Discord with your Minecraft username, the
punishment ID from your kick screen, and what you think happened. Appeals are read by
a staff member who wasn't involved in the original punishment.
How long does an appeal take?
Usually 24 to 72 hours. Appeals involving screenshare evidence take longer because the recording has to be reviewed in full.
Can I appeal more than once?
One appeal per punishment. A second identical appeal is closed automatically — but you can appeal again after 30 days if you have genuinely new evidence.
What can't be appealed?
Doxxing and hate speech bans are permanent and final. Everything else is open to appeal, including cheating bans.
Reporting players
How do I report someone?
Use /report <player> <reason> in game for anything urgent — it pings
online staff instantly. For cheating, a clip is worth far more than a description,
so post it in a Discord ticket instead.
Will I be told what happened?
We confirm that a report was actioned, but we don't share the specific punishment.
That's for the privacy of the reported player.
What counts as enough evidence?
Unedited video with the player's name visible is ideal. Screenshots work for chat
offences. Anything cropped, sped up, or missing context usually can't be actioned.
Account help
I changed my Minecraft username — do I lose my stats?
No. Everything is tied to your UUID, so a name change carries your whitelist access and history across automatically. Mention it in Discord anyway so the Characters page can be updated.
Can I ask for my data to be deleted?
Yes — open a Discord ticket from the account linked to your Minecraft username.
Active punishment records are kept regardless, as covered in the
privacy policy.
Someone is impersonating me
Open a ticket with both usernames and any screenshots. Impersonation is treated as a moderate offence and handled quickly.
Still stuck?
